Shop Dad-Friendly Matters More than We See

As part of my interview to be principal of a New York City elementary school, the retiring principal took me on a tour. As we waited for an elevator, an exuberant first-grader came up to me and said, “Hi, my name’s Samantha. Who are you, and what are you doing here?” I told her my name, shook her hand, and explained I was thinking about working in her school. Her smile was quickly replaced by alarm.
