Shop Make the Most of Parent/Teacher Conferences

On entering the room alone and approaching the parent/ teacher conference table, she felt apprehensive, overwhelmed, outnumbered. A newcomer in an unfamiliar situation, feeling small and on trial, she sat down and held her breath for her first parent conference at her son’s middle school. A single parent new to the community, she had come to learn about the program and how he was doing. Across the table came an unfamiliar voice: “What are you doing here? Your son is doing fine. I wish I had more students like him.” She exhaled and the conference began.
